An iPhone interface for reddit
July 2nd, 2008 by ShashankGiven that we had already invested so much time in Buxfer’s iPhone interface, we figured we could easily make a few interfaces for other sites we use frequently on the iPhone. We made one for news.ycombinator.com which people liked. So, we figured we will do one for reddit as well! And the amazing folks over at reddit let us make it “official” in a way too! Thanks, Steve and Alexis!
Here’s a short demo:

Do you plan on having a native app for iPhone/iPod Touch? I have been using the web app for Iphone since it was first available and using the web version as well. It is a great app and has come a long way since it was first released.
It would be perfect to have it as a native app though and not be dependent on and internet connection (because we all know how reliable a 3G connection can be).
Much props and keep up the great work!

There was a native app (ibuxfer) through a French company, but it was pulled because of copyright concerns and there is sadly no other alternative but to use the web app, which over edge can be slow. But this native app runs much faster than the web app and I am happy with it as a front end to buxfer, but I would like to see a native buxfer app to enable editing on the go and true integration. I would easily pay $9.99 for the privelege of the capabilities of accessing the full power of the buxfer on my phone. My fiance and I are planning a house and wedding so editing balances and keeping track of budgets on the move is a necessity. Thank you for considering creating an app to do so but also beware that by removing ibuxfer you also reduced the usefulness of buxfer for your product’s iPhone consumers. A better option would have been to work with the ibuxfer folks to come to a solution.
