Buxfer used to show me my Networth on the home page. Now i only see net loaned and budget outstanding.

How do i see the networth figure now? Accounts page doesn’t give me this figure. This figure is really helpful for people like me with multiple accounts.

  2. Shashank Says:

If you just click Accounts on the left side of the page, you will see your net worth. Just keep the accounts list open, if you like seeing that number! :)

When I have a bill reminder, (not sure of the translation), there is a issue with the date.

The initial date is like ” 6 Nov” and buxfer is waiting for a date like “6 Nov 2008″.

When importing a bank statement, those transactions that I’ve manually changed to transfers, are imported again.

Thanks for the “Income v/s expense” report and hope automatic tagging is fixed.
But I have one weird problem. How come I’ve logged in today and saw everything different on my home page.
I used to have Accounts, Recent Expenses and Budgets. Now there are IOU’s, Budgets and Reminders.
Why can’t I change that? Why did it change at all?

    Thanks

  6. Chad Says:

I’m having the same issues as Arco. Also, on tag reports, it’s showing me dates from 2006 with no way to change the date range.

Wow, I really like the new front page; seeing my upcoming alerts is very handy. Knowing what’s coming up could save me a lot of money!

    Well, it changed because

    and

Just would like to say that this new “widgets” (net loaned, budgets and upcoming reminders) on the main screen are VERY helpful. Much better than before.

The Accounts list is right there on the left side of the page, so there is no point showing it again.

That leaves 4 choices for what to show on the summary page: IOUs, Budgets, Reminders, Expenses.

The first three, I thought, are more important since they help you plan for what lies ahead. Whereas the Expenses chart just lets you dig into what has already happened.

Also, you should see Budgets only if you have budgets, Reminders only if you have reminders, and IOUs only if you have IOUs. If you are seeing them in error, let me know.

    Fixed! :)

Well anyhow, I have enabled customizing the widgets you want to see on your summary page. Its tough to make everyone happy, I guess! :)

Fixed as well. Thanks for reporting the issue.

Thanks for bringing back the “Settings” button :)

I meant the one on the home page

Great job Shashank, it IS tough to please everyone. I’m glad your brought back the user defined widgets on the main page. The “Income v/s expense” report function is great. Buxfer RaWkS!

  15. doune Says:

Thanks to have had the schedule link below the reminders. It’s very useful.

On an almost unrelated issue… Would it be possible someday to allow me to change my repeating transactions to Bill Reminders, or to change the Status to “Pending”, so that my accounting doesn’t get all messed up simply because I entered a reminder? I’ve actually missed paying a couple of bills because it appeared that they’d already been entered in Buxfer. Almost equally bad, all my bank balances are wrong and I can’t tell which transactions are the phony ones (they’re not exact duplicates because the amounts aren’t fully predictable and the text doesn’t match).

  17. arco Says:

Unfortunately, I still get an annoying issue related to auto-tagging of repeating transaction.
I have an auto-tagging rule set up, and a repeating transaction. When the transaction is added it has no tags, i have to got Edit, click on the TextBox with description, then click somewhere else, and only after that the tag appears.

  18. Shashank Says:

    arco,

I think that should be fixed. If not, let me know.

Hmm .. have you setup transactions to be automatically downloaded from your bank? In that case, you can just choose to not let reminders add that transaction automatically (they will still show up on the summary page, and you will receive an email) There is a checkbox saying ‘Add copy of this bill to my account on due date’ which you can unselect while creating the reminder …

Yes, I forgot to mention that– that’s the problem.

In that case, you can just choose to not let reminders add that transaction automatically (they will still show up on the summary page, and you will receive an email) There is a checkbox saying ‘Add copy of this bill to my account on due date’ which you can unselect while creating the reminder …

Yes, that works nicely; I’ve been trying to go through all my reminders and find any that I accidentally left checked before I realized what a disaster it causes.

    There are still two problems.

    1. This doesn’t work for repeating transactions, only for bill reminders.
    2. I’m not sure I got all of them — I can’t find any way to view a list of my reminders, only a calendar, and that includes a lot of repetition.

May I suggest: it would make sense if automatically copied transactions were entered as “Status: Pending” instead of “Status: Default”. That way I wouldn’t have to worry — the totals would come out OK.

  21. Wm Tanksley Says:

Eww, sorry about those quotation bars. I wish I could edit… The last deeply nested “quote” is actually my reply to your “in that case…” quote.

    Sorry.

  22. Brandon Says:

I’m very excited about the Income / Expense report. But I’m not seeing an option for it on the Reports page. How do I access this report?

  23. Brandon Says:

Ah, never mind - I think I found it under the “View” option on the Reports tab.

However, what I’d really like to see is a categorized listing of my Income / Expenses. In other words, how much did I make from Salary, and from dividends? How much did I spend on charity, mortgage interest, etc? (So, a list of each tag or tag category, with the total for that tag next to it). I think this kind of report is essential - especially if using it to help with taxes. (Obviously since transactions can be assigned to more than one tag, every transaction would need to show only under its default (first) tag to avoid showing duplicate amounts.

Maybe this is in here and I’ve missed it. If so, let me know.

    Hi,

I am a very happy user of Buxfer. It is much better than any other such site I’ve tried, including Yodlee.

Anyway, I everytime I click on “reports” now there is a crash. I’ve reported it on the screen that pops up.

    Your help will be appreciated.
