How and when do I need to verify my email address?
To verify the email address you used for signup, we send an email containing a special url. Upon clicking this url, your account is said to be verified. If you do not verify your account within 24 hours after signing up, you will not be able to login.
What if I never received my verification email?
Check the spam folder of your email address. To have us send you another verification email, try to login with your email address again. If you still do not receive the activation email, contact us at support@bbleepuxfer.com
I can not log into the mobile, iPhone, Facebook site or Firebux with my account information. What should I do?
You might face this problem if you logged in to Buxfer using your OpenID, Google, Yahoo, etc. account. In this situation, your login information is NOT stored by Buxfer. Instead, Buxfer just communicates with the relevant third party to verify your login information. As of now, only the web interface supports this login mechanism. If you want to use the mobile, Facebook site or Firebux, you are required to explicitly set a username and password for your Buxfer account:
- Login and click on "Settings"
- Click on "Profile" and choose a username and/or enter your email
- Click on "Password" and set a new password for your account
Is my password stored as clear text?
No, your password is encrypted before storage. That's why we ask you to reset your password when you forget it - since even we do not have it stored in clear text.
How can I delete my account?
Login into your account, click on "Settings » Delete account"
How can I update my email, username or phone number?
You can change your email or cell number by clicking on "Settings » Profile"
