When you consolidate a group, you only have a balance with respect to the group as a whole in that group. Only the creator or a moderator of the group can change consolidation settings for the group.
Example
Suppose John, Sara and Adam are part of a group. - John owes $15 to Sara for groceries
- John gets $20 from Adam since John paid for the movie
Now, if the group is not consolidated, John will see the following balances:
- Sara:
15 - Adam:
20
However, if the above group is consolidated, John will see no balances with Sara or Adam, but will see a balance of 5 for the entire group.
5 for the entire group.
