FAQs
Does Buxfer provide automatic categorization for my transactions?
Buxfer does provide the ability to automatically categorize your transactions, but it does not come with a pre-defined set of categorization rules. Instead, we make it super easy for you to quickly create rules for adding tags to transactions that match a set of specificed keywords. While this can be a little more work to setup initially, over time it provides more accuracy and control over how your transactions are categorized.
There are two ways you can create a new tagging rule:
  • When looking at a transaction in a list, you can click "Add Tag", then select "Always add when transaction matches".
  • Visit Settings > Rules > Tags, then click "Add Rule".
How can I automatically convert certain transactions to transfers?
Automatic rules let you specify keywords that when matched, will convert a transaction into a transfer.
There are two ways you can create a new transfer rule:
  • From an existing transaction: Click to expand the transaction, then click Convert > Transfer and select "automatically apply this rule".
  • Visit Settings > Rules > Transfers, then click "Add Rule".
